Horoscope for the Week of January 7-13th, 2019

Remember, we’re in the heart of eclipse season, between the past week’s New Moon Solar Eclipse (Insert link to blog post), and the upcoming blood moon lunar eclipse on Jan. 20…

Major Theme for the Week

Week Ahead Horoscope

Love adventurously! That’s Monday’s message as sassy Venus saunters into Sagittarius. During her four-week stay in the fire sign, Venus turns up the heat with a little exotic spice. Go explore something new with someone special — whether it’s a place, a restaurant, a good book — anything that takes you where you haven’t been before. Though it’s the journey that matters, sharing it makes it so much more fun.

A rough night’s sleep may leave folks edgier than usual Tuesday morning as Mercury tangles with fiesty Mars. Take a deep breath and mind your driving — and your tongue. When in doubt, count to 10 before speaking.

Longer lines at your favorite coffee shop on Wednesday and Thursday? As the Moon swims through Pisces it’s tempting to turn to caffeine to chase away the brain fog. Rather than a java jolt, consider just going with the flow. You might discover more things get done when you stop trying too hard.

This is especially on Thursday when the Moon meets will meet illusive Neptune in the evening hours. We all need moments to escape from our own heads. Plan a movie night, curl up with a fantasy novel, or any of your other stay-cation favorites.

Weekend Horoscope

It’s a weekend for embracing life’s paradoxes and asking yourself how you can both live in the world, as well as walk in life’s hidden valleys, unafraid…

The adventure begins early Friday morning as the Sun meets Pluto, the Underworld’s gatekeeper. This once-a-year meeting currently falls at the beginning of January, meaning we start the year with an encounter with the “darkness within.” But Pluto’s presence reminds us that our greatest treasures are found when we are willing to brave the Shadows; consider his presence an invitation for the New Year…

… And there’s not much to distract us from our contemplation. Soon after the Sun encounters Pluto, the Moon turns Void of Course in Pisces for a whopping 18 hours. Void Moon’s are like the slack tide; there’s no “oomph” to carry things into manifestation. But they typically last just an hour or two every few days, and pass unnoticed. Eighteen hours though is a long time to just — drift.

Best rest while you can though because Saturday is the exact opposite. The Moon roars into trailblazing Aries, then meets just-do-it Mars for a double dose of fiesty! Just make sure in your haste you don’t throw out what you actually wanted to keep.

Sunday features the first of 2019’s three tense meetings of slow-moving Jupiter and Neptune, placing their year-long dance center stage.

When in balance, Jupiter’s energy strives for integrity and honesty on his quest to align with a divine plan. And so we, too, may feel it as a yearning to speak and live our truth. But when Jupiter’s out of balance, it’s difficult to tell the difference between his tall tales and “reality as it is.”

And illusory Neptune certainly pulls him off balance this year. The ongoing tension from the planet of delusion and idealization means we need to work extra hard to fact-check our hopes and dreams.

At least it’s a good sign of our eventual success that their first square off occurs within hours of a brainstorming session between clever Mercury meets stabilizing Saturn, both in down-to-earth Capricorn.

When they’re together, it’s time for some structured, pragmatic thinking and planning. If you’ve got habits or systems to build, hire these two to help you work out the details. Plus, they are adept at embracing “reality as it is” — exactly the antidote we need for the excesses of Jupiter-Neptune.

That’s the beauty of the cosmic dance, sometimes the challenge arrives with the solution in tow.

Advice from Amanda & Donna

“…all the times when I’ve had really intense moments in my life were moments of transition… I often remind myself to one,  take it one step at a time. It’s really easy for us to get caught up in what the future will bring or all of our projections or how overwhelming a particular conversation might feel. And I come back to a line that I got from actually the television show Firefly which is, it’s just a moment in time.”

Donna Woodwell

“…this actually might be a week where you not only note down your dream in some sort of journal and/ or you actually ask your yourself to show you answers to things in your dreams. If there’s something that you’re sitting with and you’re needing clarity on that,  this would be a time to actually have that come forth in a dream.”

Watch out for impulsive and argumentative behaviors. With eclipse season in full roar and this cardinal square between the planet of communication (Mercury) and the planet of action (Mars) aggressive vibes abound. Witness the chaos without becoming chaotic. Someone else’s lack of planning is not your emergency. Stay centered, and patient.  – Jennifer Raciopp
